A child’s story deserves careful handling.

Dearly Fabled is an adult-operated gift service. We collect only what we need to evaluate and complete an order, and marketing permission is always separate.

What we collect

For an initial reservation, we collect the buyer’s name and email, the main character’s first name or nickname, reading-age band, occasion, preferred story direction, requested timing, and optional notes. We do not request a full birth date, school, diagnosis, address, or child account.

Reference photographs

Photographs are optional and are requested only after scope is confirmed. The buyer must have appropriate authority to provide them. They are used to make the commissioned book and are not automatically added to a public portfolio or marketing library.

AI-assisted processing

AI tools may assist parts of writing and illustration. We disclose the categories of tools involved before reference photographs are requested. We do not promise a privacy or deletion behavior that a third-party processor cannot actually provide.

Retention and marketing

Our standard retention target is to remove source photographs 30 days after delivery issues are resolved and production files after 90 days, unless the buyer explicitly requests longer storage for reorders. Separate written permission is required before any customer name, review, photograph, reaction, or finished book is used in marketing.
